Building Site Inspection
Economy
Inspection and supervision of Construction work as laid down by C, ensures that steadfastness, traffic safety and durability are also controlled. Thus the Coordinating Construction Planning Engineer must not only fulfil his safety obligations, but through certain specific measures is also able to ensure that work progresses in the most economical way. The early identification of damages minimises repaircosts and can also greatly increase the useful life of a building.

Standards governed by DIN 1076
Under DIN 1076 all buildings are to undergo a general inspection every six years and every three years a simple inspection.
As a result it is possible to determine if (for example), following traffic accidents or flooding, a special inspection is necessary.
Furthermore building inspections are to be carried out generally on an annual or a bi-annual basis.

Technical basis for the inspection and eventual repairs is the building logbook, which contains a record of all essential construction details.
In the logbook repairs and inspections carried out are entered thus ensuring a complete and up-to-date record. The building logbook may be entered up along the guidelines of DIN 1073 Issued 1983, or by SIB Construction Programme System.
