| 6-Lane Motorway Construction Steinbacher-CONSULT is the present leader for design and planning acceptance in the 6 lane widening on the Motorway A8 between the Zusmarshausen and Adelsried Junctions. The present stretch, built in the 1930’s is only 4 lanes, and without safety lanes. Since it’s construction the A8 has remained unaltered. It is planned to widen the existing A8 stretch between Zusmarshausen and Adelsried on the northern side. The Adelsried junction is to be reconstructed in it’s present situation. The approach ramps will receive an increased turn-radius to fit modern traffic needs. The existing junction on the minor road St 2032 will be rebuilt away from the outskirts of Adelsried. To the south of the A8, near to this junction, is the motorway chapel, with a parking area that is reached directly from the motorway entry (with associated danger of wrong directional entry). The planned rebuilding will eliminate this danger. |
