Examples of Projects Saale-Rippachtal Sewage Cooperative 10 years old The 10th Jubilee celebration of the Saale-Rippachtal Sewage Cooperative was held in the grounds of the plant on 7 May 2003. The event was celebrated in a Festival Beer Tent adjacent to the plant, accompanied with lots of beer and good spirits. Speeches were made by the cooperative’s Chairman Hans-Dieter von Fintel and the Works-Manager Hans-Werner Habelmann. Both described the successes and difficulties encountered in the past 10 years. To the achievements were numerous sewage plants, some 80 kms of drains, 7 large pumping stations, 4 containerised tank-farms, and the main plant at Wengelsdorf. At present some 65% of the area is directly connected. Highlight of the event was the ceremonial planting on an Alder (Tree of the Year 2003) in the works grounds.
