Examples of Projects Water Supply in the Lechfeld Area High water losses and hydraulic problems led to the design and execution of ample rehabilitation measures based on a hydrodynamic calculation of the complete network. 20 km of new pipes have been laid and 15 km of house connecters have been rebuilt. Due to a landscape drop of 40 m2 communities needed a water pressure reduction system. The existing water source was contaminated with nitrates and pesticides, so that new resources in a depth of 200 m had to be made accessible. After the removal of iron and manganese the water is stored in earth-covered concrete basins with a volume of 4.000 m3. The waterworks themselves consist of a management building with control centre, social rooms, water treatment, workshop and storage area.
